The 1966 Impala Station Wagon Home Page

yes to wagons!!I don't think so

Welcome to the official 1966 Impala Station Wagon Home Page. This page is dedicated to the most underrated and overlooked of all the body styles... the station wagon. If you were a kid back in the 60s, chances are your mom drove a car like this one. She probably did NOT drive a Super Sports or a convertible or a 4 door hardtop. These cars had it all, room, power, reliability, options, and looks. Pity the poor minivan driver of today who has to make do with 4 or 6 cylinders, extremely high intial cost, high long term maintenance costs, and the ultimate insult, having to remove seats from the van to haul anything more than a few bags of groceries. So, c'mon in, have a look around, and have a 60s flashback.

The purpose of this site is to promote the station wagon, especially those of the 60s, as unique collectible cars in their own right. My feeling is that these vehicles, while basically utilitarian in nature, are as much a part of our collective memory as the more flashy cars available. Besides, as this car illustrates, the wagons had many expensive features unique to them.
There are 2 ways to navigate on this site. To see different views of the wagon, click on different parts of it. Example, to see the front interior, click on the front door. Other pages of interest are available on the menu at the bottom of this page.
